For Sale: 2018 BMW M3 CS w/ 23k Miles in San Marino Blue
Here is a 2018 BMW M3 CS for sale (VIN #: WBS8M9C50J5L71739) in San Marino Blue (SMB). The listing on BMW of Darien states the vehicle has 23,410 miles. Per the attached CarFax report it states the vehicle has a clean title and has had 2 previous owners. $72,995 is the current asking price. Car is located in Darien, CT.
General Observations
This example is equipped with the Executive Package and has the standard steel brakes. This is 1 of 209 San Marino Blue examples that were brought to the USA.
Going over the extensive CarFax report there’s not much to pick apart on this example. It is a 2-owner car that was re-sold very early in it’s life. It was then owned by its latest previous owner for the past ~4.5 years. Per the CarFax report it has a well documented service history. It appears to have been serviced by 2 different dealerships throughout its life.
The car has been primarily owned in the Northeast region of the USA where rust becomes a potential issue for used cars if driven in the winter. I don’t believe this car has any rust issues, but something I’d double check by checking it’s underside. Having it on a lift at the dealership would tell you everything you need to know. Judging the car though, I highly doubt this car has any rust issues.
Exterior Condition
What an example! I know I’ve only blogged about 11 or so examples thus far, but glancing through photos this has got to be one of the nicest examples I’ve seen as of late. Definitely one of the better ones I’ve wrote about. There’s simply not much to pick apart — at least through photos. Paint looks great. Interior looks great. Appears to be enthusiast owned and well cared for.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Tires
Before I get into the tires, I just want to say look how clean the rotors and calipers are! Often times now, you see used examples with the ///M logo starting to wear off on the calipers. This one with 23k miles has the ///M logos fully intact on all 4 corners. You had to been a meticulous and knowledgeable owner to know to be gentle enough during the cleaning process to preserve the ///M decals. The other thing I’m noticing is the rotors are free of any rust and any caked-on brake dust around the edges of the discs and centers. I almost want to say they’re new. If I was buying I’d inquire with the dealer if they were recently replaced.
Onto the tires, they have been replaced with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. These are a close variant to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s which the F80 M3 CS was tuned for. I assume because the car appears to have been owned in the Northeast, the previous owner opted for the Pilot Sport 4S to tackle most inclement weather the car possibly faced.
Interior Condition
The interior is as nice as the exterior. Not much I can nitpick other than to say enjoy the photos for your viewing pleasure. Whoever owned this beauty was very meticulous in ownership and it truly shows.
The driver side seat appears to be in great shape where there tends to be wear. It appears the previous owner was extra vigilant in how he or she got in and out of the car. With 23k miles you would have to be disciplined in order to preserve the seats to this level.
The often worn Alcanatara steering wheel you see on used examples appears to NOT be the case for this example. The Alcantara looks to be in like-new condition. That or it appears to be in excellent shape for a car that has 23k miles.
Things I’d Inquire About
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
In the photo above, this example presents as an absolute stunner under the artificial light. Looking at the hood gapping, this is as tight and consistent as they come. The carbon fiber hood on these cars tend to be loosely gapped from the factory. This is not the case with this example.
The paint also looks immaculate in photos. One must assume the car at very least has a full front PPF kit applied. I’m not seeing any chips or blemishes through the photos. This of course is something you would need to inquire with the dealer or review in-person yourself.
Maintenance and Service
As stated above, this example is well documented service wise via the complimentary CarFax report provided by the selling dealer. Tires and windshield have been noted to be replaced. Outside of this, this example appears to be fastidiously maintained.
As I’ve stated with many of my reviews, I would sit down with a service advisor from the selling dealer and go over what is needed service and maintenance wise. I would see what the car may or may not need today. I would, as well, see what it would need in the near future to properly budget for operating costs.
