For Sale: 2018 BMW M3cs w/ 30k Miles in San Marino Blue
Here is a lightly modified 2018 BMW M3cs for sale (VIN #: WBS8M9C58J5L71777) in San Marino Blue. The listing on BMW of San Rafael’s website states the vehicle has 29,964 miles. Per the attached CarFax report it states the vehicle has a clean title and 3 previous owners. $77,900 is the current asking price. Car is located in San Rafael, CA.
General Observations
This particular example, for me, was where my buying journey began. This is the exact car that I viewed when the car was brand new at BMW Bellevue back in March 2019. I’ll never forget it as it was the last example BMW Bellevue had and they had it displayed dead center in their showroom. This was the car that convinced me to buy! Now 4+ years later the car has exchanged hands a couple times and looks to be well-kept with some very choice modifications.
The current dealer does not provide a description as of this moment, but based on the last 2 listings on bimmerpost and on a previous dealers website, the car looks to have been in hands of enthusiasts and, in my opinion, looks to have been in great hands.
Car is optioned with the executive package and has the standard steel brakes. Based on the aforementioned listings it appears to have a nice list of Dinan modifications which include software, mid-pipe, intake, heat exchangers, carbon fiber mirror caps, and HAS suspension kit. Other modifications include Bimmerworld monoball front control arms, iND color matched side markers, iND black M3cs rear badge, and a CG Presicion VSC-2 variable controller.
Looking at the brakes, the brake rotors appear to have been replaced by the dealer as they have that “new serrated finish” look that new BMW rotors have when new. In the same photo I’ve noticed a slight “rub” or “scratch” on the driver side of of the lower carbon fiber front lip that I would inquire about for condition.
Interior Condition
Interior wise it does look clean, but shows some wear on the Silverstone colored centers as seen in photos. The leather itself does show some wear and tear, but is consistent to a car with 30k miles. A nice leather rejuvenation and conditioner treatment would probably go a long way in bringing them back to like-new condition.
Other than that, looking at the driver side bolster and thigh support they appear to be in decent to good shape. Again, a car of this mileage you cannot expect perfection. I’ve seen worse with less miles so this is a positive.
Things I’d Inquire About
In the dealer photos I do not see photos of the engine bay which would tell me if the Dinan modifications are still present which is something I would confirm that are still on the car. If you price those parts alone it would run you deep into the thousands of dollars which would take away the true value of this particular example.
Looking at the front-end of the vehicle and what I noted above, I’d ask about the condition of the carbon fiber front lower lip as it appears to be damaged or split in half. It could be just the lighting in the photos, but I’d ask about it either way so you know what you’re getting yourself into.
Staying on the topic of front-end, I’d ask if the car has any paint protection film. Looking at the 2 previous ads I see no mention of this so I’d check to see as it would be a huge plus if it does.
Outside of that, being that the brake rotors have been replaced one would assume the selling dealer performed their own inspection and refreshed the car as needed. If this is the case, I’d ask what else was replaced and what other services were performed.
