For Sale: 2018 BMW M3cs w/ 22k Miles in Frozen Dark Blue II
Here is a very nice 2018 BMW M3cs for sale (VIN #: WBS8M9C59JL005385) in the super rare color of Frozen Dark Blue II. The listing on autotrader states the vehicle has 22,100 miles. Per the description it states that it has a clean title and CarFax. $71,500 is the current asking price. Car is located in Sausalito, CA.
General Observations
This particular example is optioned with the executive package, the carbon ceramic brakes, and, as well, the CS specific Frozen Dark Blue II paint (1 of 63 brought to the USA). Based just on the ceramic brakes and special paint it makes this example one of the rarest combinations ever produced. A true gem of a find in my opinion. When you consider all 3 options that were checked for this example, it makes for one of the highest MSRP’s for an F80 M3cs.
Exterior Condition
Reading through the description it appears to be enthusiast owned and it shows — in photos at least. I can sense a great pride in ownership as I can’t point out any glaring blemishes. The car truly appears in like new condition.
Car is currently located in Sausalito, CA which makes it one of the most ideal areas for car ownership and preservation as its located in the sun belt so it most likely faced minimal inclement weather.
Seller notes some minor scratches as seen in photos.
Interior Condition
Interior wise it looks just as clean as it’s exterior. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary and looks very clean especially for 22k miles. It’s kind of hard to see in the photos but the proverbial driver side bolster and thigh wear seems to be at a minimum which is great as the leather in these vehicles require vigilant care to maintain. Overall, the interior looks almost new with it’s preserved OEM matte leather finish. For me, at least, I can’t stand “shiny” leather so this is a huge positive in my book.
Another thing I’d like to note is that typically over time the silverstone colored centers tend to discolor from ink/dirt transfer from clothes. This example seems to have very undisturbed consistent OEM coloring on all stripes which is amazing for it’s mileage.
Things I’d Inquire About
Probably one of the questions I’d ask if there was any paint protection film added as it does not mention it in the ad. Nor can I tell in photos.
I’d also ask if the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are original. Because if so, with 22k miles that’s a true testimony as to how the car was driven. If the tires are original one can only assume it was driven lightly.
However, if the tires are original with them now being ~5 years old, it’s probably time to replace them soon due to time expiration. General rule of thumb is that experts recommend replacing tires every 6 or so years regardless of wear. Remember BMW tuned the electronic differential for Michelin Sport Cup 2’s which would be my first choice. If, however, you live in an area with inclement weather the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s would be a great alternative.
General Disclaimer
I’d like to first clarify that I am not connected to the seller or platform in any way. When purchasing any vehicle, I highly recommend doing your own due diligence before consummating a deal. My personal insights and opinions that I’ve shared through this post stem from my cautious perspective and carry no responsibility for the actual condition of the mentioned vehicle. I highly recommend arranging a 3rd party pre-purchase inspection with a trusted mechanic. I also recommend researching the vehicles history through a CarFax or Auto Check report.
