The One To Own: 2018 BMW M3 CS in Lime Rock Grey With 2k Miles & CCBs

Here is a 2018 BMW M3 CS for sale (VIN #: WBS8M9C54J5K99878) in Lime Rock Grey (LRG).  The listing on Faulkner BMW states the vehicle has 2,261 miles.  Please note: If the original listing link does not work, this car has probably sold.  There is currently no complimentary CarFax or AutoCheck history report for me to review so I can’t elaborate on its history.  $79,995 is the current asking price.  Car is located in Lancaster, PA.

 

General Observations

This example is equipped with the $5,000 Lime Rock Grey paint, the $2,600 Executive Package, and has the optional $8,150 Carbon Ceramic Brakes.  The original MSRP with options for this car would have been a whopping $114,995.00 making it one of the highest sticker prices for the F80 M3 CS.  This is 1 of 92 Lime Rock Grey examples that were brought to the USA.  This example has no other M-Performance accessories optioned.

Thanks to the forum members on Bimmerpost for this find.  This example is currently not listed on any of the major selling platforms so if you are in the market for “the one”, you better run fast before they properly advertise it.

For many, this is as good as it gets:  The second rarest color (1 of 92 imported into the USA) and what many feel is the most coveted, color wise.  You add the highly desired Carbon Ceramic Brakes and you have the second rarest example you can possible have within the realm of F80 M3 CS configuration possibilities.  If owning a trophy piece is your thing, this is it!  You can bring this example to your local cars and coffee and brag all day long that this is one of the rarest specs for any F80 M3 CS with only 2k miles (LOL). I don’t blame you if you do.  These cars are every bit worthy of being proud of, ownership wise.

There currently isn’t a complimentary CarFax or AutoCheck for me to review, so this is something you will want the dealership to pull up for you to review, yourself.

Exterior Condition

There isn’t much to say about this example other than this is an absolute sight for sore eyes.  I know the F80 M3 CS market has been tough lately, so its amazing to come across such a specimen that’s practically brand new off the lot.  I have ZERO bad things to say about this car through and through.  This is literally like going back into time to 2018 and buying the car brand new.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires

If I were to guess, these are the original Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that probably need to be replaced based on age and not on wear and tear.  Experts recommend you should replace tires every 5-6 years based on age alone.  These cars are about that age where they need to have their original tires replaced.  So keep this in mind.

If it was me, as I’ve said before, I’d buy a new set of 763m wheels and mount a set of Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires for driving use and keep the original set of wheels and tires for preservation purposes.

 

Interior Condition

Like the exterior, there isn’t a bad thing I can say about the interior.   Absolutely no wear and tear.  Just like the car was brand new off the lot in 2018.  Amazing!

I remember buying my car brand new in 2019 and these photos remind me of the day I took delivery.  I imagine the lucky owner of this car will experience that brand new “car smell” experience I had in 2019, but in 2023.

 

 

Things I’d Inquire About

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

There is a limited amount of photos for me to review and the mileage is so low I am unable to detect existing PPF.  There is also no mention of existing PPF on the selling dealers description.  The car has such low mileage that if it doesn’t have PPF that this is something I would do ASAP.  As mentioned through previous blog entries, newer cars, in-general, have soft and fragile paint.  I would highly recommend XPEL or SunTek with full frontal coverage including mirrors, door cups, door edges, rear trunk ledge, rocker panels, and custom extended rear quarter panel coverage.  Front A-Pillar and B-Pillar coverage would be a nice upgrade as well.  Full car coverage is something I’d also consider if it’s in the budget.

I would highly recommend researching the best and most experienced installer to do the job.  The labor is more important than the brand of film.  I can’t stress this enough as a former PPF shop owner.  If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me.  I’m always here to help.

Maintenance and Service

Again, there isn’t a CarFax or AutoCheck report for me to review the cars service history, but I would hope this car had it’s annual service despite the mileage to keep the car always ready to be driven without worry.  This is something I’d go over with the selling dealers service department.  I would ask, at this point, what needs to be addressed with the notion that the car has virtually no miles.  Sometimes extremely low mileage cars suffer more wear and tear than cars with normal miles, so keep this in mind.  For the record, I don’t expect this car to raise any red flags or possess glaring issues.  I personally own a 5k mile example that has been serviced yearly with ZERO issues outside of normal service.

 

Run, Don’t Walk…. Buy, Buy, Buy!

If this car checks out, this is absolutely the listing of the year.  As mentioned above, the combination of the second rarest color with CCBs and the lowest mileage seen in over a year is an amazing combination to behold.  At $79,995 I feel its worth EVERY penny of their ask and know of many people I’ve had conversations with through this site that will likely consider this car — if not outright buy sight unseen.  All I can say, if this car checks out, to the future owner, lucky you!  Congrats!
